Your Aussie Top End Adventure...
Far from the city lights, your virtual challenge begins beside the crystal blue waters on the Western Australian coast. Take in the picture perfect beaches of Broome before heading off the beaten track to visit places like Bungle Bungle ranges and the magnificent Katherine Gorge in the Northern Territory.
As steps are logged each day, you and your teammates will venture deeper into the very heart of Outback Australia. Surrounded by breathtaking red earth formations and ancient indigenous rock art, you make a virtual visit to the most famous rock in the world, ‘Uluru’. Before you have time to say ‘Crikey’ you’re stepping towards plantations bursting with tropical fruit, sugar cane and marveling at the lush rainforests of North Queensland.
So, here's how it works...
The 10,000 Steps Australia workplace challenge invites you and your fellow staff members to record your all-day pedometer steps and physical activity (optional) for 10 Weeks.
First, you register for your challenge. Your Team Captain or Coordinator will organise you into teams.
Then we equip you with a G-Sensor Accelerometer Pedometer which you wear on your waistband. This counts your daily steps.
Each day, team members log into their personal homepage on the website and enter their step count.
As steps are logged, teams progress across the virtual challenge map reaching selected locations along the way. With a click of the mouse they can view photos and facts on each exciting destination and even catch up on some health and walking tips.
Team members can view their own team and their favourite teams on the challenge map.
They can even see who’s topping the charts in your virtual workplace Leaderboard.
Move more, sit less...
Every aspect of the 10,000 Steps Australia workplace challenge is designed to achieve real, measurable results. We’ve created a walking challenge that engages both the first time walker and those already active.
We’ve gone beyond simply getting you to sign up and join a team; we provide personal tracking tools, virtual milestone medals and customised pedometer step plans that are proven to engage, motivate, reward participation and ensure a real sense of achievement throughout the challenge.
